Mugen Depth rewards: find the exact listed conditions

Compare Starting Mugen Depth and Depth Effect Limit rewards, their exact Steam conditions, and the limits of what those labels establish.

Which rewards mention Mugen Depth?

The official Steam achievement list contains three Starting Mugen Depth rewards and two Depth Effect Limit rewards. Find the label you want in the Reward condition finder before narrowing the condition scope. These are two different reward families.

The store says Mugen Depth rises as you venture deeper and brings debuffs and stronger enemies. That explains why the labels matter, but does not define the reward calculations. A player discussion about the demo shows the practical concern: exploration pressure can make continuing a run unappealing. That complaint is a player’s experience, not proof of a timer or an exact Depth increment.

What are the three Starting Mugen Depth conditions?

Each row below preserves a separate official entry.

Official reward label Official condition
Starting Mugen Depth -2 Fight an Oni for the first time
Starting Mugen Depth -3 Reach Mugen Depth 100 for the first time
Starting Mugen Depth -5 Collect 30 different Attributes in a single run

Fight is not the same condition as defeating an Oni. Different Attributes does not mean collecting 30 copies of one Attribute.

To isolate the third entry, select Starting Mugen Depth, then Explicit single run in the finder. The other two descriptions say “first time”; they do not explicitly describe a single-run or total accumulation window. Our condition-scope guide explains that distinction.

How is Depth Effect Limit different?

It is a separate label in the same official list:

Official reward label Official condition
Depth Effect Limit -1 Die 10 times
Depth Effect Limit -1 Obtain Attributes from Treasure Rooms 3 times in a single run

The second condition requires the Attribute-obtaining event in Treasure Rooms three times within one run. Merely entering three rooms is not the stated condition. The first row does not explicitly say how its counter persists, so it stays Not stated in the finder.

Do not replace these two records with one combined requirement. Their identical reward labels do not establish an AND rule, an OR rule, or an additive effect.

What should I avoid assuming from the minus signs?

The public descriptions do not establish how the rewards stack, whether starting Depth can become negative, or how Depth Effect Limit interacts with debuffs. They also do not document a claim menu or application timing. Use them to identify a target condition, then compare the actual game feedback with that condition.

For another reward goal, see Starting AP and Arts capacity. If an expected achievement does not trigger, use the official reporting checklist rather than changing saves or assuming a hidden requirement.

Which sources and version were checked?

Checked on 6 November 2026 against the official Steam achievement list and current Steam store description. Steam’s latest inspected update announcement is 1.0.1; the achievement text is a captured public listing, not an installed-build test.
